Student Ministry

Our Mission & Vision

Our mission: To produce more maturing followers of Jesus Christ.

Our vision: To be the student ministry Charleston can’t live without.

Element (6th -8th)

Jesus replied, “You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. A second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ The entire law and all the demands of the prophets are based on these two commandments.” -Matt 22:37-40 (New Living Translation)

What is an element? One definition is: It’s a pure substance that cannot be broken down into anything else. Our middle school ministry’s verse is Matthew 22:37-40. In this passage Jesus tells us what the core of following Him is: Love God, Others and Self. This is Christianity in its purest form. This is what we want for our middle school students, pursuing a right relationship with God, others and self.

Fusion (9th-12th)

Where faith and life merge

My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. -Galatians 2:20 (New Living Translation)

A definition of fusion states: a merging of diverse, distinct, or separate elements into a unified whole. The idea behind our high school theme verse of Galatians 2:20 is that as we follow Jesus, He lives inside of us. There is a fusion of our lives to His will.
