School/Preschool Closing Policy
 Snow days are challenging for everyone! Bible Center has maintained a policy of closing its doors only when it is deemed necessary to do so in order to protect our students, their families, and our workers. The decision will be made by 6:15 AM. If you are unsure whether our School will be open, there are a number of ways you may find out.
Bible Center School does not necessarily follow Kanawha County Closings. Please note that if Bible Center School closes due to weather, the Preschool will not necessarily close.
If Inclement Weather Occurs…
The decision to close school will be made and announced as soon as possible when inclement weather occurs. The decision for school closing will be made by or before 6:15 AM. Public announcements will be made as follows: |

1. School Answering Machine
If school is closed for inclement weather, messages will be posted on the church and school phone system by or before 6:15 A.M. Call 346-0431 and press 2. You will then be directed to the school information line. |

3. News Media Radio stations: WCHS-580AM, WQBE, WBSR, WBES.
Television stations: WOWK, WCHS, and WSAZ.
*Please note that television stations may choose not to list businesses, daycares, and churches at the bottom of the screen, and only list them on their web sites. |

4. Recorded Message
A recorded courtesy call will be placed to each home with phone information on file with the School offices. We must have current phone numbers on file for this procedure to work well.
If you have caller ID, the name HyperReach will be displayed as the caller. |
Kanawha County Closings
Bible Center School does not necessarily follow Kanawha County Closings. Please note that if Bible Center School closes due to weather, the Preschool will not necessarily close.
2-Hour Delays
The decision to have a two-hour delay will be determined by 6:15 AM, and the information will be placed on the school website, local radio, television, and school phone message system. Also, you will receive a phone mesage via our Hyper-Reach system.
Two-hour delays will include BCS only--the Preschool will operate on the regular schedule. Early care will begin at 9:00 AM and the regular school will begin at 10:00 AM. Lunch, recess, and dismissal will occur at the regularly scheduled times.
Early Dismissal
At times, Kanawha County Schools will dismiss early during the school day. Bible Center’s policy is that we do not dismiss early once school is underway. Our regular dismissal time is the same - 3:00 PM (school) and 6:00 PM (preschool & aftercare). If weather becomes a problem in your area after the school day begins, please feel free to pick up your child or children early and they will be excused.
