First Grade: Reading
The Reading instruction will be in direct correlation to the daily phonics lessons. This reinforces and puts to practical use the phonics rules. In addition to the practical application, students will be encouraged to incorporate outside reading activities and develop a love for good (edifying) literature. Students will be taught to use the phonics language clues to gain meaning from the written word.
