Mr. Garland Elmore, Principal

Garland had worked in the public school system for 31 years. He continues his labor of love by making a positive impact on children and providing them with a world class Christian education at Bible Center School.

Garland resides in Elkview with his wife, Beth, and their son Garland II. Garland grew up in Logan County and lived in Omar for 39 years. He graduated from West Virginia State College, now known as West Virginia State University, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology. He earned a Masters degree in Special Education and a principal's certification from West Virginia College of Graduate Studies.

Upon graduating from college, Garland spent two years as a Probation Officer in Logan County and then pursued his dream of teaching special education at Omar Douglas School for the next ten years.

Over the next 21 years, he served as an administrator working on the elementary, middle and high school levels. He joined the team at Bible Center in 2010.

Mrs. Vicki Hess, Preschool Director

Vicki has come to the preschool with considerable experience working with children and parents. She assumes responsibilities for Director of Preschool after having taught in Bible Center's elementary school since the early 80's. She has also had experience teaching in the Lincoln County and Kanawha County public school systems as well as serving as an assistant director of an area day care center.

Vicki grew up in Lincoln County where she graduated from Duval High School. She completed her undergraduate and graduate work at Marshall University. Additional classes have been completed through Appalachian Bible College, West Virginia University, and the University of Charleston.

Vicki and her husband, Reed, reside in Alum Creek and attend Bible Center Church where they serve in a variety of volunteer capacities. They have one grown daughter, Paige, who resides in the Charleston area with her husband, daughter and son.

In their free time, Vicki and Reed enjoy traveling and spending time with family.
