Bible
Bible for Sixth grade takes a devotional approach to the weekly study of character traits of figures from the Old and New Testaments. Recognition of consequences of individual choices challenge students to develop personal discernment. Spiritual commitment is nurtured through Bible memory passages. |
English
English 6 reviews capitalization, punctuation, parts of speech, and word usage rules. Sentence and paragraph construction are expanded to more lengthy compositions. Research writing will be explored, as well as various opportunities for creative writing. |

History
The emphasis in grade six is on the history and the geography of the New World. The history of the Western Hemisphere from creation to modern times is presented from a Christian perspective. The geography of the New World is presented by continent including government, industry, and people. |
Reading
Reading 6 is a continuation of the Reading 5 thematic, developmental reading program. Emphasis is placed upon selections from children's classics. Lives of authors and circumstances of society are explored as each cutting is investigated. |

Physical Education
The third through sixth grade physical education course will give each student the opportunity to improve coordination, conditioning, body strength, specific skills for team sports as well as sportsmanship. Students learn through drills, relays, and playing team sports. Emphasis is placed on improving the students' individual skills. All grades participate in a Fitness Test with awards. |
Mathematics
Elementary mathematics begins with the most basic processes of arithmetic, proceeding from concrete to abstract, emphasizing the facts of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Daily oral and speed drills, and review work reinforce previously learned material. The major topics to be covered are word problems, percent (symbol, reading & writing, finding percentage, finding percent of increase decrease, finding percent for circle graphs), ratio (reading & writing, terms), and proportions (reading writing, terms). |

Science
Students in grade six studying science see the plan of God as it is revealed in His orderly creation. The students are presented with things that they can see, observe, and understand in the world around them. Activities are included to support the learning of basic science. |
Spelling
Grade Six Spelling continues the practical application of principles of usage introduced in Grade Five by compiling word lists from literature selections. Word origins are explored. Less familiar diacritical markings are investigated. Words with multiple meanings are clarified. |
