As our name would
indicate, we are all about the Bible. We believe it is God’s
Word. We take it seriously and literally. It is the ultimate
source for all we believe about God and is our final authority
in areas of lifestyle and moral issues. From God’s revelation in
the Bible we firmly believe the following:
God
We believe that the Father is eternal and rules supremely over
all things. We believe that Jesus is fully God and was born of a
virgin, died for our sins on the cross, and was resurrected
three days later. We believe the Holy Spirit indwells all
believers and guides and comforts us.
Man
We believe that God is the creator of all things including
mankind. Due to the fall of mankind into sin, we are separated
from God and cannot save ourselves.
Salvation
We believe that Jesus is the only way to God. He is God in the
flesh and through His death on the cross the price for sin was
paid. Salvation is a free gift of God and is received through
faith. Our only responsibility is to believe in Christ - in
essence to stake the destiny of our souls on what Jesus
accomplished on the cross.
Church
We believe that the church is the body of Christ on earth. God
has given the church two ordinances to display His work on
behalf of mankind: Baptism, which pictures what happens when a
person is saved through faith in Christ, and Communion, which
pictures what Jesus accomplished on the cross. These ordinances
do not save a person, but are important acts of obedience for
one who is saved. We believe that the church is to maintain a
witness to the lost and seek to assist in the maturing process
of believers.
Life after Death
We believe that heaven awaits those who have received God’s gift
of salvation and hell awaits those who reject. We believe Christ
will return to take believers to be with Himself and will later
return to establish His kingdom.
A Christian’s Responsibilities
We believe it is our duty in obedience and love to obey God’s
commands for living. Our lives are to be marked by holiness and
service for our Lord. We need to be joined with others in a
Christian community which is the church in order to encourage
each other in the Christian life and to worship our God. We also
are called upon to be a witness to those who are without Christ.
