Pastor’s Letter

Dear Friends,

Welcome to church! I trust you’ll make yourself at home and take another step in your spiritual journey.

Our pastors and staff are still ecstatic about the Christmas services, concerts, parties and outreaches over these last few weeks. The parking lots were full, ushers scrambled to find seats, and the coffee prep volunteers could barely keep up. Best of all, people heard the gospel and made decisions for the Lord Jesus Christ.

Christmas is over… so, now what? Pastor Mike Graham will chart the course for us in today’s sermon. Summarizing Jesus’ words from Matthew 28:18-20, Mike will remind us of our long-held mission statement: “Glorifying God by producing more maturing followers of Jesus.”

Pastor Mike became our Pastor of Community Life in 2017, bringing over 20 years of experience to our group and community ministries. We’ve been friends since 2011, and I’ve watched him develop teams of leaders, start dozens of community groups, and cast a discipleship vision for a growing church. His teaching has already made an eternal impact on our church family, and I know you’ll be blessed by his preaching. I plan to open my notebook and my heart to God’s Word in both services.

By grace, 2019 will be a year to remember here at Bible Center. May God help us go all-in for the gospel and for the city!

Love to you in the new year…

Matt Friend • Senior Pastor

New Core Class: Praying with Purpose and Perspective
Friday, Jan. 11 • 6:30-9 PM • Worship Center • Taught by Pastor Mike Graham • Have you ever asked these questions: Does God hear me when I pray? Why should I pray? Does God really want to spend time with me? Is everyone as distracted as I am when they pray? Why isn’t God answering my prayers? Prayer changes everything: us, our church, and our city! Learn how to view prayer in light of your relationship with God, what hinders prayer, and how God answers prayer. Register by Monday, Jan. 7 to ensure adequate materials are available and to enroll for child care (up to 4 years old).
