Officials say the number of West Virginia children in the state’s foster care system now doubles the number of foster homes.
The number of children being removed from their homes is increasing every month and there’s no end in sight. Michelle Thompson, who fosters four children in Charleston, said she once received 14 calls from social workers in one week asking for her to take a new child.
