Pastor’s Letter

Dear Friends,

Welcome to church!

I’m so glad you’re here. We’ve been praying for today’s services all week.

For over 76 years, the Bible Center family has invested much to spread the gospel around our city and around our world. But why? Why is this so important? What’s the big deal? That’s the heart behind today’s message, Why Missions?, #6 of 12 in the Why? series.

While I’m out of town (on a retreat with a couple of our men’s Bible study groups), Pastor Mike Graham is the right man to deliver today’s message. Along with 20+ years of church leadership experience, he has served internationally with Cru (Campus Crusade for Christ) to train missionaries and develop strategies for reaching more people for Jesus. God has clearly given Mike the gift of teaching, so I’m confident that you’ll learn something and be encouraged.

Today’s message is a special milestone for our Global Outreach Committee, our Elders, and all our staff. They have worked diligently and collaboratively over the last 5-7 years on a biblical missions philosophy, strategy, and implementation plan. Join us for the member meeting on June 9th (6 PM) to receive your copy of our new missionary prayer guide.

One of my heroes, Dr. Alan Hirsch, said it best, “Every Christian is a sent one. There is no such thing as an unsent Christian.” May God continue to make it so at Bible Center!

With you for the gospel, the city, and the world…
