Pastor’s Letter

Dear Friends,

Good morning and welcome to church! I’m so glad you’re here. Whether you’re fully rested or barely hanging by a thread, we pray today’s service will be a special blessing to you.

While I’m out on vacation with my family, Pastor John is teaching today from Psalm 133, the classic Psalm of Christian unity. The inspired writer declares, How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity! …For there the Lord bestows His blessing, even life forevermore.

Let me take a moment and thank you, Bible Center Church, for the tremendous display of unity that we’re seeing throughout our church family. You are unifying around the gospel in our worship services, in your groups, on your service teams, and in your classes. You are uniting around our mission to the city, both individually (at your jobs, in your neighborhoods, around your hobbies) and collectively (by sharing your time, resources, and talents). It’s happening!

However, let us never imagine that we have arrived. The world, our own flesh, and our ancient adversary—the devil—are always poised to distract us from the Lord Jesus Christ and to divide us from one another.

As Thomas Paine so eloquently penned, “It is not in numbers, but in unity, that our great strength lies.” May God use Pastor John’s message today to further strengthen our unity!

United with you for the gospel and for the city,

Matt Friend • Senior Pastor

Begins July 28

We Value…

Our mission at Bible Center is to glorify God by producing more maturing followers of Jesus. Our strategy-at-large is to create environments where all people can worship, belong, and serve.

But what motivates us to do what we do? Why are we so passionate to fulfill this mission? Only our values can answer those questions. Every church has a value-combination unique to its location, people, and time in history. We want our values to align with God’s heart for the greater Charleston area.

Join us for this 7-week series, and may God inspire us with these seven values!
