Pastor’s Letter

Dear Friends,

Welcome to church! I’m thrilled you’re here today for three reasons:

#1 – We’re rolling out our year-long theme.

Our yearly themes typically run September through May. This year, the Lord has led us to emphasize Making Spiritual Friends. I’ll share more in today’s sermon.

#2 – We’re kicking off a new series.

Good news! You were made for more than to simply survive the    9-to-5; for more than binge-watching Netflix alone every weekend; for more than having a million Instagram friends but having no one to call when you’re anxious. The Bible teaches that we’ve been adopted into a spiritual family, we have a new collective identity, and we’re brothers and sisters in Christ.

Today we launch an 8-week series that emphasizes this truth.    Next week we’ll begin walking verse-by-verse through the first three chapters of Ephesians, laying the foundation for the last three chapters (which we’ll pick up again in 2020). Be inspired…You were Made for More!

#3 – We’re having a picnic.

Shortly after today’s second service (around 12:30 PM) we’ll enjoy Lunch on the Lawn. If this is the first you’ve heard about it, no worries… Food truck vendors will be waiting outside, and they tell us they’re prepared to take cash, debit, or credit. Enjoy the sunshine or shade, and try introducing yourself to someone new. Sarah and I plan to be among the last to leave, and we look forward to visiting with you.

Let’s relish this last official day of summer!
