Pastor’s Letter

Dear Friends,

Welcome to church! I’m so glad you’re here. Feel free to grab a cup of coffee and donut from the lobby and make yourself at home

Our mission as a church family is to glorify God by producing more maturing followers of Jesus (Matthew 28:18-20)

But what does a Jesus-follower look like? How do we define a maturing disciple of Christ? How do we know if we are maturing in our own faith, let alone the people we are trying to disciple? Where will this personal journey take us?

Today we continue our 3-week series titled, “Authentic: The Marks of a Disciple,” studying authentic discipleship and defining spiritual maturity.

Last Sunday we heard Jesus’ tender invitation to love God more. Today, I pray you’ll hear His call to love each other more. This certainly encompasses our families and Christians at large; however, today we’ll study this issue in regard to our own church… the Bible Center family.

I hope you’ll join us again next Sunday as we conclude the series with Jesus’ encouragement to love our neighbors more. In order to saturate our city with the gospel, we’ll want to first imbibe and embody all three qualities ourselves.

In the words of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.:

I have decided to stick with love. Hate is too great a burden to bear… Love is the only force capable of transforming an enemy into a friend.

Growing with you in love,

Matt Friend • Senior Pastor
