Pastor’s Letter

Dear Friends,

Welcome to Church Online! We’re so glad you’re finding connection here.

With the world around us in chaos, what does Jesus invite us to believe? What are we to think, especially as Easter approaches? The Gospel of Mark holds the answer: Jesus is King, even when life doesn’t make sense!

Some prefer to phrase it as, “Jesus is Lord,” or “Jesus is in control.” Either way, the Gospel of Mark invites us to remember, especially in times like these, that there’s no reason to be paralyzed by fear. Christ has risen from the grave, conquered death once and for all, ascended back into heaven, and sovereignly reigns today over all things.

This weekend we continue our “Epic Easter” series, leading up to next week’s Resurrection Sunday (April 12). Today we’ll reimagine the time (in Mark 9) when Jesus led his closest disciples to a mountain top and revealed his glory to them in a way they never forgot.

Invite a friend to watch with you online, and check out the resources at the bottom of our series page. Each sermon and daily devotional shines Jesus’ hope on our doubt, fear, anxiety, and discouragement.

At the end, on Easter Sunday, Jesus will invite us to make a very important decision for ourselves. Let’s pray that many recognize Him as Lord, even when the world around us doesn’t make sense.

Praying for you in this difficult season,

Matt Friend • Senior Pastor

Good Friday Online | April 10 | 7 PM

Good Friday is a special time to look back in awe and wonder at the sacrifice Jesus made for us on the cross.

Join us online for a creative hour of dramatic Scripture reading, art, singing, and prayer as we survey the 14 Stations of the Cross… the 14 places mentioned in Scripture where Jesus journeyed in those final, dreadful hours.

Pastor Matt and 20 of our members recently experienced these locations in Jerusalem’s Via Dolorosa, and he is eager to share them with you.

All ages are invited as each service element is designed knowing children will be watching.

Join us from your living room, kitchen, bedroom, or back porch as we proclaim in ancient and modern ways, Hallelujah, What a Savior!

Easter Sunday | April 12 | 9 AM & 11 AM

Think about it… The first Easter wasn’t celebrated in a large gathering hall. Instead, a few close friends and family huddled together near an empty tomb.

Wherever you happen to be this Easter, we invite you to spend it with us online!

  • 9 AM Multigenerational Service | Streams on our website, app, Facebook, or Youtube
  • 11 AM Modern Service | Streams on the same channels, or you can tune in on WVAH Fox 11 (channel number 12 in most areas).

So far, in the Epic Easter series, Pastor Matt has highlighted “Epic Discouragement” and “Epic Discovery.” This all points to Sunday’s “Epic Decision.” Prayerfully invite a friend to tune in with you in hopes that they’ll turn and trust Jesus Christ.

He is risen! He is risen indeed!
