Pastor’s Letter
Dear Bible Center family & friends,
Welcome to church! Thanks for visiting on campus, online, or on TV.
This weekend we conclude our Are You Certain? series. For 7 weeks we’ve studied the inspired letter of 1 John in search of spiritual confidence and assurance of salvation.
The book of 1 John is all about assurance, confidence, and eternal security. Its goal is to give genuine believers the guarantee that all our sins have been forgiven (past, present, and future); that God the Father completely accepts and approves of us through the merits of Jesus; that we really are going to be with Jesus when we die; and that our salvation is secure.
In this inspired letter, John identifies 7 pieces of evidence that you are—or are not—a genuine child of God. So far, we’ve discovered that authentic Jesus-followers:
- Have a relationship with Jesus.
- Are eager to confess and change when we sin.
- Desire to know God above all else.
- Will persevere in our faith to the end.
- Possess a new kind of sacrificial love.
- Exude faith and trust in Jesus to save, transform, and restore us.
You can find all these previous messages (and complementary resources) here or on the app.
Today’s message, the last in the series, is about obedience and life-change. We’ll see that those who truly belong to Jesus are in the obvious process of being transformed into His image.
May God give our very own Pastor Mike Graham the words to say as he concludes our series today.
Love in Jesus,
Matt Friend • Lead Pastor
