Pastor’s Letter

Dear Bible Center family & friends,

Welcome to church! Thanks for visiting on campus, online, or on TV.

This weekend, while my family and I are away, Pastor Mike is kicking off our 9-week Reset summer series…

“How did I get here?”

These are the words of many Christians on the brink of burnout or in the midst of breakdown. They are exhausted, depressed, anxious, stressed, and joyless. Their time is spent doing many good things, but their pace is unsustainable―lacking the regular rest, readjustment, and recalibration they need.

But there is good news: God has graciously provided a way for us to reset our lives to a more sustainable pace. Drawing on personal experiences―good and not so good―this series offers us hope for the future, helping us identify the warning signs of burnout and offering practical strategies for developing patterns necessary for living a grace-paced life.

If you’d like to follow along with David Murray’s book that complements this series, you can order it here. It has been a personal encouragement to me, and I’ve brought it with me this week to read once again on vacation.

More than ever, as our neighbors emerge from this pandemic, I’m convinced this fall will be an unparalleled season of ministry. Perhaps the greatest way we can prepare this summer is to prayerfully rest in hope for a fruitful fall.

“Resetting” with you,

Matt Friend • Lead Pastor

We can have confidence in God because He thinks about us, loves us, and sees us. We can have confidence when we understand how God sees us. When we have the right perspective, we can wake up, press play, and get in the mix of the amazing plans God has for us. [Find out more.]

Summer’s here, and we have plenty of opportunities coming up for you from the Yard Sale and Craft Show to VBS and Camp. Or you may choose to chase the kids’ boredom away with one of the many opportunities (lessons, tutoring, camps, sports, and more!) being offered by Bible Center School. Church Life

Campfire Summer Sing

Sunday, June 23 | 6 PM | Group singing is coming back! Come and join us for an evening of singing. We’ll gather together around the fire pit to sing hymns and worship songs, fellowship with friends, and snack on s’mores. Everyone’s invited, regardless of skill or experience!

Summer Member Meeting

Sunday, June 27 | 6 PM | Members and attenders are welcome to tune in at 6 PM via our online platform (BibleCenter.Online.Church). Join us for an hour of prayer, vision, celebration, and ministry updates by multiple staff and volunteers. We’ll also vote on the 2021-22 Budget.

Camp Scholarship Fund

Did you know 85% of people who come to faith in Christ do so by the age of 18? Summer Camp is a crucial time in the lives of students. By giving to the Susan Bosley Camp Scholarship Fund, you can help a student attend summer camp where they will hear life-changing messages from God’s Word, be encouraged to deepen their faith and grow closer to Jesus,  make memories with friends that will last a lifetime, and come home ready to tell others about what God has done in their life that week.

NEW – Parking Lot Team!

First-time guests are coming every Sunday! Help welcome them onto our campus and direct them to their designated parking area by joining the Parking Lot Team. If you can smile and wave, this is a great place for you to serve. Contact Paula Toney to sign up.  She has an orange vest for YOU!

Drivers for Celebrate Recovery

Tuesday Evenings | Volunteers are needed to pick up and drop off people from a couple of the recovery homes. If you would like to help with this ministry, please email Sheri.

King’s Island (5th Grade)

June 22 | 7:00 AM-9:30 PM | A special trip to King’s Island is planned as 5th graders transition into middle school. Transportation will be provided (leave from the church), and parents may attend. Contact Pastor Steve Neill with questions. Cost $98 per ticket (includes all-day drink bottle and all-you-can-eat meal passes, taxes, and fees).

Bike Nights (2 yrs-5th Grade)

June 23 & July 14 | 6-8 PM | Mark your calendars and join us in June and July! We’ll enjoy the bike park, playground, and a cook-out while having fun with friends!
