Pastor’s Letter

Dear Bible Center family & friends,

Welcome to church! Thanks for visiting on campus, online, or on TV.

This weekend we continue our 9-week summer “Reset” series. You can watch or listen here to catch up on previous sermons or to review sermon notes.

I’ve titled today’s message “Refuel” since we’ll be looking at what fuels our spiritual formation.

What energizes our walk with Jesus? How can our souls be motivated when all enthusiasm seems lost? Where do we turn for power when our spiritual tank seems empty? What can invigorate, boost, and galvanize our spiritual resolve to live and love like Jesus?

Thankfully, there’s good news! Part of the solution won’t surprise you in the least. (This is a church so you know we’re going to talk about things like prayer and reading God’s Word.)

However, you may be surprised by other aspects of the answer. We’ll be discussing things today that you might not expect to hear in church or in the Bible.

Recently in my quiet time, the following words refreshed my soul. May they do the same for you, your family, and our entire church!

Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. (Isaiah 40:28-31)

“Resetting” with you this summer,

Matt Friend • Lead Pastor
