Pastor’s Letter

Dear Bible Center family & friends,

This weekend we continue our 9-week summer Reset series. You can always watch or listen here to catch up on previous sermons or to review previous sermon notes.

I’ve titled today’s message Reduce since we’ll be looking at what the Bible teaches about simplifying our lives.

As your life becomes more complex, do you ever find yourself craving simplicity? Whether it’s in your career, your family, your relationships, your health, your finances, your goals, or all of the above… do you long for the days when you had fewer “spinning plates?” Do you ever feel overpowered, overextended, or overwhelmed?

Thankfully, there’s good news, and today’s message is part of the solution!

Having studied this biblical issue at length, Thomas à Kempis wrote, “Purity and simplicity are the two wings with which man soars above the earth and all temporary nature.” Simplifying our lives will bring balance, freedom, and joy. Those who have walked this road ahead of us claim that simplifying life has a compounding, snow-ball effect—the more we do it the more we’ll want to do it.

This is what I deeply desire for me, for my family, and for you. Let’s ask the Lord to work in our hearts today as we seek to Reduce all that is distracting us from Him.

“Resetting” with you…
