Christmas Offering 2018

Thank you!

Your generosity is making an impact for the gospel and for the city! Will you consider giving a special gift to the Lord through your church as part of your year-end giving? God has used your gifts to accomplish more than we could imagine: people being saved and baptized; kids learning about Jesus; students and young adults plugging in and being engaged in worship; hope and encouragement given to many around our city…

What is the Christmas Offering?

Through the years, the Bible Center family has creatively given in various ways during the holidays (e.g. missionary projects, special needs classroom). This year we are designating all December giving as the “Christmas Offering.”

Each week, children learn about topics like kindness, cooperation, contentment, and compassion.

45 people followed the Lord in baptism this year.

Where Does the Giving Go?

All December giving focuses on two goals:

  1. Funding the ministry
  2. Crushing the debt

Your December giving will catch up our budgeted expenses allowing us to: teach the Bible to hundreds of children weekly, reach students with the gospel, lead approximately 1500 people in Sunday worship services, serve our city through a dozen projects underway, publish printed and digital study materials, pay for all operational expenses, and support missionaries worldwide.

What is This Year's Goal?

  • To fully fund our day-to-day ministries and start the new year on track, we need $716,665 in the month of December.
  • Once we reach the $716,665 goal for the general budget, we’d love to make a large year-end contribution to the All-in! Challenge.

More than 800 people in our community were helped by WV Healthright at our school campus.

Bible Center School students are equipped to face life’s challenges with a Christian worldview.

What is the All-in! Challenge and Why So Urgent?

A 1-year blitz (that started in April) with 2 goals: to grow as a church and crush our debt. In the last 8 months, our debt principal has been reduced by $1.9 million (leaving $10.6 million). Earlier this year, we voted to set aside most of the proceeds from our 9-acre property sale to make our regular mortgage payments for one year, which allowed us to make principal-only contributions in the All-in! Challenge. That fund will be depleted at the end of April (2019), compelling us once again to raise the funds for the monthly payments. This gives us a 4-month window to continue paying directly to the principal of our loan, reducing our indebtedness dollar for dollar. On July 1, any remaining debt will be rolled into the General Budget (for the first time ever). Imagine our freedom for ministry if our debt were obliterated!!!

Now is the Time!

What you give in this year’s Christmas Offering will impact boys, girls, men, and women for decades to come… and into eternity! What is your dream for our church and our city? What other ways might we reach people who have yet to hear about Jesus? What will the Lord have you give in the Christmas Offering?

Volunteers are mobilized to make a difference in our city and surrounding communities.

What will the Lord have you give in the Christmas Offering?
