This Christmas, “Behold the King” leads us to see Jesus as He truly is: the King of Glory who came in humility, the Lamb of Heaven who brings redemption, and the Lord in Splendor who reigns with power and peace.

As we live in a world full of noise and competing voices, so many things vie for our attention, our allegiance, and even our worship. Christmas reminds us that there truly is only one King–the One who was willing to leave heaven to be with us, who gave His life for us, and Who rose to bring us life. He is the King who loves us, pursues us in our brokenness, and brings peace to our world. As you take in the sights and sounds of this Christmas season, may your heart be drawn again and again to the One who is worthy–Behold the King.

However, as we study Christianity from almost 2 millennia ago, we learn that global vision always begins at home. Rockets need launching pads. Planes need runways. Military missions depend on a home base. Likewise, God is inviting us to strengthen the ministry to our own community before we reach out to more cities or countries. How do healthy Christians engage their own neighborhoods?
