Pastor’s Letter

Dear Friends,

Good morning and welcome to church! I’m so glad you’re here. Whether you are fully rested or barely hanging by a thread, we pray today’s service will be a special blessing to you.

On a scale of 1-10 (with “10” being fully rested and “1” being far from it), how well do you practice rhythms of rest? As your Senior Pastor, may I humbly confess that I’m still learning—with many of you—to practice Christlike rhythms of rest? Thankfully, through the gospel that continually transforms us, there’s hope for us all!

To continue our Why? series, today Pastor Mike will be answering the following from God’s Word, “Why Vacation?” Though I’m out of town this weekend performing a wedding for one of our families, I plan to download, listen, and learn from Pastor Mike’s message as well. Through today’s message, may we hear and answer God’s invitation not merely to more sleep (or more travel, or more pleasure), but may we respond to His greatest invitation of more trust, more faith, more conviction that He always keeps His promises!

In the meantime, feel free to grab a cup of coffee and a snack from the lobby, and receive this service as God’s gift to you.

With you for the gospel and for the city,

Matt Friend • Senior Pastor

Sermon Series begins June 2

What would happen if you told God how you really feel and what you really think? He is big enough to handle all your pain, rage, fear, desire for control, prejudice, greed, doubt, and unfulfilled longings! He’s inviting us to take off our mask and spend this summer praying the Psalms.
