Welcome to church! I’m so glad you’re here.
Since we’re still on the front-end of our new We Value… series, you’ve come at a great time. Over the last two Sundays, we dug deeper into the Gospel and Learning. If you weren’t able to hear either message live, you can always listen to the podcasts or check out the videos on our website or app.
Today we explore another one of our seven values: City. Since our beginning in 1943, our official name is “The City Bible Center,” flowing out of a passion to see the greater Charleston area saturated with the gospel and flourishing in all aspects of life. By grace, we’re becoming a movement that loves our city, is for our city, and will work alongside the people of our city to make the greater Charleston area a thriving place where hope is found, love is practiced, and people are valued as God’s image-bearers.
In conjunction with this value, we’ll announce a special city ministry opportunity at the end of today’s service. Thankfully, Jesus is paving the way for us to saturate our city with the gospel!
Join us again next Sunday, August 18, for a special service dedicated to the value of Family. As brothers and sisters in Christ, we—the church—are a family. Together, we’ll enjoy a special communion service whereby we remember what Jesus did for all of us on the cross.
With you for the gospel and for the city,
Matt Friend • Senior Pastor
