Welcome to church! I’m so glad you’re here. Today it’s our privilege to celebrate Adoption/Foster Care Sunday. I couldn’t be more thrilled!
Why celebrate Adoption/Foster Care Sunday?
- To celebrate God’s adoption of us
- To celebrate those in our church who have adopted or fostered
- To dream as a church how we can continue to be more included in this movement.
Can you imagine waking up as a child each morning thinking, “Maybe today will be the day that I get a home, bedroom, or family of my own!” A few of you have lived that experience, which is why adoption and foster care are so close to your heart. Others of you have made an eternal investment by adopting or fostering children into your home.
All of us can support this movement in one way or another. Our little church can’t do everything, but we can do something. At the end of today’s service, I’ll share three tangible ways we can get involved.
Members (and those planning to be members): Please join me back here at 6 PM this evening for our fall Member Meeting. In addition to celebrating Paula Toney’s 15-year staff anniversary, I’ll be sharing concrete vision for the next two years and we’ll conclude with a time of prayer. Bring the kids… even the little ones with their coloring books or iPads. We’re a family, so I like to imagine us all in one big living room!
Matt Friend • Senior Pastor
Tonight • 6:00 • Auditorium • Make plans to join us for hot chocolate and cider as our Senior Pastor and Elder Board share their hearts and clarify our vision for the decades ahead. These meetings help explain the Why? behind what we do. We hope all members will attend along with regular attenders considering membership. We’ll also celebrate Hospitality Director Paula Toney’s 15-year staff anniversary!
Food Collection Ends Today
Today’s the last day to donate food for the Food Distribution. Doors will remain unlocked until the conclusion of the Member Meeting (approximately 9 PM).
